Earlier this trimester, 3rd graders spent a handful of lessons learning about issues that currently impact two specific ecosystems: the rainforest and the tundra. Through different books and video clips, students learned about deforestation and global warming, in addition to their impact on the environment. After comparing both of these issues, students selected one of them to create an independent project using an app called PicCollage. These lessons incorporated various technology skills, in addition to 3rd grade science, writing, and research standards. Follow the link below to view their projects!

Since the start of 2nd trimester in mid-November, our 5th graders have been up to a wide variety of activities. Because they've rotated through the lessons at different times, we haven't really been able to post much about them...until now! Here's what they've been up to...
Over the part two months, 4th graders have been working very hard to learn about a specific renewable or nonrenewable energy source. After selecting an energy type, small groups gathered research from a website, online encyclopedia, and book. As a team, they pulled together their information and divided up speaking parts so that each team member could create their own gami to share what they had learned. Take a look at their presentations by following the '4th Grade Project' link below!
