Take a look at our new, dual-purpose bookshelves! Not only are they the new home to all of our biography books, but they also make some great benches for seating. Be sure to take a look the next time you're in the learning commons. Perhaps during our upcoming book fair which you can learn about in the video below... |

Currently, our learning commons has seven of this year's nominees, and over the past week or so, our primary classes have been busy reading them! After reading at least five of the books, classes will vote on their favorite in order to help us determine which nominee to submit as a school. We'll let you know our choice in a couple of weeks so be sure to check back in!
Over the past four weeks our kinders, 2nd graders, and 3rd graders have been busy playing football. In the Learning Commons?!? YES! Where else - don't most library lessons involve running around to find books with a teammate? :) Each grade level teamed up to work on different library skills. Kinders played football in order to practice using shelf markers for the first time! Our 2nd grade teams located nonfiction books by various topics within the Dewey Decimal System by using the picture posters on our book shelves. Third grade students retrieved specific books according to their spine label within our fiction and everybody sections. Way to go teams and a big thank you to PTO for our field, jerseys, and football cards! Be on the lookout for our other grade levels to participate in some football too before the years end.
