Our 5th grade Bobcats didn't complete our 3R activity - they were too busy learning about LHTV (our morning televised announcements)! Applications have been turned in, and our first crew will begin after Labor Day weekend. Our Kinder Stars had their first EVER lesson in the library so their day looked a little different; more information on their lesson will be in next week's post. :)
This week was our official start for classes in our Learning Commons at Langston Hughes. All of our sections joined us for their weekly 45 minute lesson. It was so great to see our many returning faces and meet our new ones as well. Aside from our typical intro of remembering/learning where various books are located, how to search for books, and how to check out, our 1st-4th grade classes also completed an activity to show what it meant to be Ready, Respectful, and Responsible in the library. As part of this activity, students worked in small teams and took pictures using items such as books and shelf markers as props. Some of their pictures can be found below.
