5th grade had the amazing opportunity to meet children's author Kate Klise on Wednesday. During her visit, students completed a writing workshop, learning the model Kate Klise uses to help guide her through the writing process and set up the stories she creates. Students enjoyed exploring her many books and unique writing style prior to her visit, and they were so excited to have the opportunity to meet her. Thanks, Kate! |
All of our other grade levels participated in a round of library football this week. Kinders practiced finding a book based on the first letter of the author's last name in our Everybody section. First grade also used our Everybody section, but identified where various favorite series and authors are located. Second grade students used the icons on our nonfiction labels to find books according to topic. Third graders located books in both the Everybody and Fiction sections based on the first three letters of an author's last name. Fourth grade friends found books in our nonfiction section according to specific Dewey Decimal numbers. Next week, 5th graders will participate in library football by completing any of the football cards that our 3rd and 4th graders would have encountered. |
