Since returning from winter break, our primary grade levels have started 2018 with the Bill Martin Jr. Award. This award is presented every year by the Kansas Reading Association (KRA) to a picture book geared towards primary level students. Each year, there are 10 nominees that our students read and then vote on. Generally speaking, we read two books during our library lesson time, and the remaining are completed with their classroom teacher. This year's books completed during our library lessons included Always Remember by Cece Meng and Daniel Finds a Poem by Micha Archer. 2nd grade got a bit of a head start back in December during our gingerbread unit with another nominee by Laura Murray, Gingerbread Man Loose at the Zoo. In February, students will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite nominee. Check back to see our favorite pick!
