I think they like it! :) | This year's Dot Day project is complete and on display! For this year's display all of our students started with an exact replica - a blank white dot. After designing their individual dots, pieces were connected together by class. For our overall effect, each class strand was attached to a hula-hoop suspending from the ceiling - thank goodness they're so tall! |
This week our 3rd-5th grade students learned about this year's William Allen White nominees and theme - Striking Out William Allen White. This year, there are eleven books up for the award which range from chapter books, to novels in verse (poetry), and nonfiction picture books. Students need to read and demonstrate their knowledge through a quick comprehension quiz for five books to be able to vote, eight books to be recognized at Blue and Silver, and all eleven to earn a special prize. Books and quizzes need to be completed by the end of the first week in April. Click the link below for more information and book titles/summaries. We're gonna strike out the William Allen White books!
