Our oldest bobcats recently learned about being good digital citizens and then created an animated skit in pairs using an app called PuppetPalsHD. Later this year, their projects will be shared with 1st grade students in order to help our younger friends learn about being safe, respectful, and responsible online. You are welcome to view their projects through the link below.

This week was a big "start" week for three of our grade levels, as each of them took part an in initial lesson for a multi-week library unit. 1st grade started a project for animals and their adaptations., which ties into their current science unit in 1st grade. Ultimately, students will create a picture and recording about their new, invented animal. 2nd grade had an introduction to various fun inventions; this will also eventually tie into an upcoming science unit.. In the library, we will tie in multiple Sibert Award winner and honor books to highlight various inventions and practice note-taking. Our final "start week" group, 4th grade, selected a type of energy they will be researching with a team. In upcoming weeks, they will focus on note-taking and creating a bibliography to cite our sources. Eventually, teams will create an animated news report to share their information.
We recently started letter stations! Letter stations are intended to support our Reading Street curriculum by exposing students to letters and their sounds during 10 minute stations. At each station, students watch a fun, short video about a specific letter and are then able to read, write, or draw words with that initial letter/sound. We will cover the alphabet in order from start to finish. This week, students completed the letters E, F, G, and H.
