Last week, our 4th grade classes began their tall tales library unit with a book called Johnny Kaw, written by Devon Scillian and illustrated by our visiting author Brad Sneed. We took this opportunity to discuss characteristics of tall tales, focusing on exaggerations. Starting this week, students participated in one of three stations. At all of our stations, students begin their time with a tall tale graphic novel ebook. In their small groups, they identified two exaggerations from their tale. Once these steps were completed, students could complete the corresponding building challenge for their book. Over the next few weeks, students will rotate through all three of our tale tall graphic novel ebooks and building challenges. So far, we're off to a great start! Take a look at the fun below!
