Towards the beginning of the year, 2nd grade students read many of the Kevin Henkes “mouse books” as introduction to the school year. Over the past few weeks, students chose one of the books to identify the main character, the problem that character faced, and the author's message or lesson of the story. After writing up a paragraph of their responses and creating an illustration students have been recording their projects on their own through an app called AudioBoom. Projects will be available for viewing for during conferences; be sure to take a look!
