This week we celebrated National Library Week in our Learning Commons here at Langston Hughes. This year’s theme, “Libraries Transform”, led us to participate in The Kindness Rocks Project (TKRP). The intent behind TKRP is to promote kindness to others through decorated rocks. The connection between this project and our theme is two-fold. By spreading kindness, students are able to help transform the mindset of others in a positive way. Additionally, through this makerspace type of activity, students are able to transform an everyday object into something special and meaningful. Students can advocate for kindness by setting their rock out at home as a reminder to themselves or by leaving it somewhere in the community to be found by others. Happy Library Week and please help pass on the kindness. |
