Every year, 4th graders at Langston Hughes study famous Kansans as part of their social studies curriculum, but it's not everyday that they get to MEET an ACTUAL famous Kansan! On Thursday, our 4th graders got to meet illustrator Brad Sneed who was born (and still resides) in Kansas. Students learned about Mr. Sneed's childhood and how he became an illustrator. Through his presentation, we saw the various stages that take place in order to complete the illustrations of a book and learned about what the process entails. Mr. Sneed even took the time to create a drawing for us to add to our collection! Here's some pictures from his visit... Below are some of the books Brad Sneed has illustrated that we have available in our learning commons.
