This week our 2nd grade classes read Laura Murray's The Gingerbread Man Loose in the School. After reading, students put their direction following skills to the test by creating their own gingerbread according to the guidelines of the "official" gingerbread glyph. After determining what their individual gingerbread should look like based on the glyph, each class went to one of four places based on the book. Mrs. Hatesohl's gingerbread went into to gym, Miss Liberty's class visited the nurse's office, Mrs. Mustain's class went to the art room, and Mrs. Williams' gingerbread ended up in the principal's office. Don't worry, just like the story, all of our little gingerbread creators ended up safe and sound back in their classrooms!
