Over the past three weeks, 3rd grade Bobcats have been learning about life cycles during their library lessons as a direct tie-in to the science unit they are currently studying in the classroom. During our first two weeks, student teams used ebooks to gather information about animal life cycles (week one) and plant life cycles (week two). During this activity, students looked for specific information and recorded in their notes in a Comparison Matrix. This week, students learned how to apply their matrix information to determine similarities and differences between specific life cycles. We will continue to use the Comparison Matrix format as we proceed with our upcoming research project in the library where students will study two ecosystems that are being impacted by humans and create a digital project using PicCollage. Be on the lookout for these projects in December!
